Every year, BOMA San Francisco acknowledges a Principal, an Associate, and an Engineer member for their contributions to enhancing BOMA's effectiveness through active participation and engagement. In 2022, two new distinctions were introduced: The Rising Star award and the President's award. Members of the general community are encouraged to submit nominations, considering factors such as:
- Involvement in committees
- Attendance and/or active participation in educational/networking events (including event sponsorship)
- Dedication of time and expertise, such as serving as a course instructor or contributing as a newsletter article author
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and a proactive role in supporting BOMA's industry advocacy, such as backing BOMA’s PAC
